WatEUr organises its first consultative workshop

The first consultative workshop of the WatEUr project will be held in Lyon (France) the 3rd and 4th April 2014. This event represents one of the milestones of the WatEUr project and the outcome obtained thereof will be a key element in the success of the WatEUr project and the Water JPI.

The organisation of the consultative workshop is listed as one of the tasks of WP3 – aimed at the development of the Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda (SRIA) of the Water JPI. Indeed the preparation of SRIA is based, at a first stage, on the review of a considerable number of information sources such as national RDI programmes on water, European RDI programmes, the European roadmap for the sustainable use of natural resources, the Water Blueprint, the strategic agendas of other initiatives like the European Innovation Partnership (EIP) or the WssTP platform, foresight studies and other internal documents of the project. Based upon the review of all these information sources, a considerable number of research needs in the water RDI domain have been identified. It is now then necessary to prioritise such research needs in the short, medium and long term. The upcoming workshop in Lyon has been conceived to provide a forum for discussion on the prioritisation of research needs by relying on the expertise of members of the Water JPI’s Advisory Boards and national experts. More than 50 people, between members of the Advisory Boards, national experts and members of the WatEUr project have confirmed their participation. The programme of the workshop will be available on the website shortly. The proceedings will also be available soon after the workshop. Even though the WP3 is in charge of its organisation, proposals from other WP partners are more than welcome. For any questions or suggestions, please do not hesitate to contact Patrick Flammarion  or Nathalie Dörfliger.
