Welcome to new Water JPI member countries!

We are delighted to announce that the Water JPI membership has grown in 2021, with the integration of Tunisia as Associated Partner and Slovenia as Observer country.

Slovenia is represented in the Governing Board by the Ministry of the Environment and Spatial Planning and might decide to be involved in joint activities in a near future. Tunisia is represented in the Governing Board by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. Since 2016, Tunisia participated successfully in several joint activities through the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research (MHESR) and/ or Institution de la Recherche et de l’Enseignement Supérieur Agricole (Iresa), including WaterWorks2015, WaterWorks2017, AquaticPollutants & BiodivRestore ERA-NETs Cofund actions, and the respective Joint Transnational Calls for RDI projects.

Currently with twenty full Member countries, five Associated Partners and three Observers, the membership accounts for 88 per cent of all European public RDI annual expenditure on water issues. One of the main key achievements of the Water JPI, since its approval by the European Member States in December 2011, is the high level of partner involvement in implementing joint transnational calls.
