SD-Wishees TAP Launch meeting
Two years after the project’s kick-off, the SD WISHEES TAP action was launched on the 20th and 21st February 2025. This marks a major milestone for the project, which aims to foster collaboration with widening countries.
A TAP (“Thematic Annual Programming”) action is a network of national projects designed to enhance collaboration and synergies between thematically linked initiatives. The SD-WISHEES TAP, which will run for nearly two years, includes projects related to the impacts of hydroclimatic extreme events on cultural heritage.
The kick-off meeting of the SD-WISHEES TAP was held in Paris, at the French National Research Agency (ANR) and it gathered projects from the following countries (in alphabetical order): France, Greece, Malta, Moldova and Romania. The two-day kick-off meeting featured a structured agenda:
- Day 1. The TAP action tool was presented (objectives, modalities of participation, governance). This presentation was followed by a presentation from Dr. Mary Kelly Quinn, who coordinated one of the Water JPI’s TAP on ecosystem services. All coordinators were then invited to make a presentation of their respective projects.
- Day 2. Participants were divided into two groups. The first one, uniting all project coordinators, worked on the implementation plan of the TAP. This allowed the identification of activities to be carried out by the group till the end of the TAP. The second group, gathering representatives from funding agencies, discussed alignment and widening strategies in order to improve the participation of widening countries in the Framework Programme. Notably, this session included the participation of Mr. Marnix Surgeon from the European Commission.
The kick-off meeting of the SD-WISHEES TAP proved to be highly productive. A number of possible activities were proposed by participants, who demonstrated enthusiasm for this initiative. Planned outputs include a projects’ booklet, a policy brief, visits and lab exchanges… Just the beginning of a promising journey!
News on the progress will be shared on LinkedIn and the SD-WISHEES website. Stay tuned for more information!
