New methodology to measure microplastics in EU’s drinking water

A JRC-developed methodology will support the Drinking Water Directive in the important domain of monitoring microplastics in tap water across the EU. To define the methodology, JRC scientists first reviewed the scientific knowledge base on the nature, distribution and quantities of microplastics. The findings are published in the report ’Analytical methods to measure microplastics in drinking water’.
