Funded projects under the 2015 Water JPI Joint Call

The kick-off meeting of 16 research projects, already approved for funding and selected among those submitted to WaterWorks2014 Call “Stepping up EU research and innovation cooperation in the water area”, was held on May 18th 2016. This Call is the first ERANET Co-fund among those promoted under Horizon 2020 in support of the Water JPI in order to  implement the Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda (SRIA) of the Joint Programming Initiative “Water challenges for a changing world”. The ERANET Co-fund WaterWorks2014, which started on March 2nd 2015, aims at tackling European water challenges by developing research and innovation actions from a transnational and multidisciplinary perspective particularly focused on themes such as recycling and reuse of water resources, water purification and treatment process, water-energy nexus and flood and drought risk management. A total of 118 proposals were submitted, of which  106 passed the first-stage evaluation,  only 41 of them were admitted to the final selection and according to its outcomes funds for the 16 transnational cooperative research projects  were allocated. Those projects were presented at the poster session of the Water JPI Conference.
