3rd European Water Conference

The 3rd European Water Conference was held on 24-25 May 2012 in Brussels during the Green Week, the annual event organized by the European Commission to raise awareness in the public opinion on the need to protect environment and natural resources.

Water JPI Fourth Executive Board

The fourth meeting of the Executive Board is scheduled for next 16- 17 October and will be hosted by ISPRA in Rome. The meeting has also the purpose to prepare the launch of the Coordination and Support Action WATEUR planned for January 1st, 2013. Work packages and task leaders will present and discuss detailed plans of the programmed and approved activities.

Commission agrees on publishing relevant documents on CIS

The Commission has agreed with the European Parliament to make public all relevant documents (such as agendas, minutes and meeting documents) concerning expert groups of the Common Implementation Strategy of the Water Frame Directive from the portal WFD CIRCA: "Implementing the Water Framework Directive".


CRUE-ERANET contributions to NHESS

The first two CRUE-ERANET contributions to the special issue of NHESS on “Flood resilient communities managing the consequences of flooding” are published on this EGU Copernicus scientific journal.
The first article is titled “Recommendations for the user-specific enhancement of flood maps” and gathered thescientific results


European Water Research and Innovation

The increase in European water-related scientific performance has been spectacular since the 1990s. While 3.3 k publications were produced in Europe in the period 1991-95, 19.1 k publications were authored by European scientists in the five-year period of 2006-10.
